Amelia Bedelia Squealia

Amelia has earned a few new nick names in recent weeks. One of her cute cousins calls her Bedelia. She has taken to squealing, and boy is it ear-piercingly high-pitched! So, Grandma calls her Squealia. Anyway, she's loads of fun and growing up way too quickly.
Her well-baby appointment on Tuesday was a riot. She kept tooting in the doctor's face, to which he commented that she wasn't being very lady-like and that she was taking after her dad. Jono just grinned at that remark. Amelia weighs a very healthy 16 lbs 3 oz and is 25.5 inches tall. She tops the charts in height, weight, and head circumference. Way to go! She certainly is her father's child, as mom was in the 5-10% range as a baby.
Amelia started eating rice cereal a few weeks ago and as of this week she's been getting it once a day. From the look on her face, I don't think she loves it, but most of the time she'll choke down a handful of bites. We also started mixing squash into her rice cereal this week. The faces we get from putting that in her mouth are priceless... and not usually thrilled. She does love to play with her own spoon and even puts it in her mouth (in the mean time, hitting it all over her face, and head, and throwing it...heads up! spoon on the loose!).
She is still trying to sit up on her own, making good progress. Amelia loves to wiggle on the floor and manages to move herself around through various body contortions. She can roll from back to tummy and vice versa, but rarely chooses that form of transportation.
I could spend hours writing about our little cutie, but you are probably entirely bored by now. We're completely shocked that Christmas is less than two weeks away! Seems like we just got back from Portland, where we spent Thanksgiving! I'd better get the shopping, decorating, baking, and maling done!
